Program note
"Tribute of Reverence" for bass oboe and piano draws inspiration from Thai dance movements associated with Muay Thai. The rare bass oboe offers a deeper range and a focused timbre between the bassoon and cor anglais. The composition interprets gestures of respect and loyalty through graceful movement and formal posture. Its arch form allows the melody to build, peak, and return, while Thai drum patterns in the piano deepen the cultural connection. The work is among the few Thai solo compositions written to showcase the bass oboe.
